The United States has opened up a new front in a trade war with China, accusing China of offering unfair tax breaks to domestic aircraft manufacturers, the sign that Washington is worried about China's fledgling aircraft manufacturing industry.
According to the British "Financial Times" website reported in December 9th, U. S. officials said 8 days, they submitted a request for consultations with Beijing, the focus is on China's aircraft manufacturers to provide value-added tax exemption, but does not provide similar treatment to foreign manufacturers. The move is the first step in the proceedings of the World Trade Organization (WTO). Geneva based WTO is the ruling body of the global trade rules.
The European Union and the United States has been around for many years to benefit the Airbus and Boeing (Airbus) (Boeing) and other aircraft manufacturers government plan in WTO wrestling. But the United States for the first time in 8 days to take action against China's commercial aircraft.
At present, the executive authorities of the United States President Obama Barack (Obama Barack) led by the administration is increasingly seeking to use China's hard line stance as a selling point of its trade agenda.
Reported that the Obama administration is still WTO and other arbitration institutions for China's trade case, trying to show their strong defense of U.S. workers' jobs, so that they are not fair - the impact of the competition - a move in Congress is welcomed.
"Today, we take this action, because the American workers and manufacturers should have a fair competition, and the opportunity to win the competition," said Frohman Mike, the US Trade Representative (Froman Mike).
The United States claims that China's tax breaks for aircraft manufacturers are in violation of the rules of WTO, as it does not have to be treated equally to foreign manufacturers.
Reported that the need to pay 17% of imported commercial aircraft (VAT), while the domestic aircraft is not.
Reported that this is not a major event in the past. But recently the rapid development of China's aircraft manufacturing industry, is starting to compete with Boeing and other manufacturers, especially in China's rapid development of regional aviation market.
